FTPing

Your "public_html" folder is where your will place your web pages.

Your "mail" folder is where your mail is stored.

The rest of the files are needed to run your account.

This directory is called your "root."

You can store any file in your root. They will NOT be accessible to those on the Web.

If you want others to access your file, you must put it in your "public_html" subdirectory.

Moving Files

Your computer is on the left, Bama (the remote) is on the right. This is true for WS_FTP, but other programs have it the other way around, so be careful!

The first thing you must do, is highlight the file you want to transfer. Find your file by clicking on the green arrow to move up one subdirectory level.

Click on the file ONCE to highlight it.

Then, click the arrow in the middle of the screen. This sends the file.

That's all there is to it.
